This post is also available in: Française

Olgga Architects have designed and built an energy efficient (THPE 2005, H&E Profil A) residence ‘Maison evolutiV’) from two shipping containers offering 70 square metres (753 square feet) of space. The exterior walls are fitted with chesnut wood facades and a nice wood pile touch supports the upper module.

Solar panels have been fitted to the roof to provide hot water. Wool insulation is used on the internal walls to regulate temperature as well as rain water collection to provide water for toilets and the garden.

The whole house consumes only 48kWh/sq metre per year.
